CARDBOARD

Cardboard is used for a lot of packaging, such as boxes and containers.

When being recycled it is sent to a waste paper merchant where it is put together into large bales before being transported to the paper mills. Once there, the bales are placed onto conveyors and taken to a pulper, where water and chemicals are added in order to create a mushy pulp. This is then cleaned, de-inked and dried into rolls of paper. This can then be cut into correct sizes for re-use.
