PLASTIC

Plastic is used for toys and packaging mainly. The majority of liquids such as drinks bottles and juice come in plastic containers, as do shampoo, cooking oil and many more items.

The bottles are driven away to factories where they are sorted and squashed into big blocks, before being cut up into small flakes. These are then washed and dried before being melted and then recreated as new plastic objects.

When you recycle bottles, firstly remove the lids, wash out the bottles and squash them flat. Check out for these three symbols below which mean that your bottle is recyclable.
