TRANSPORT

When people drive their vehicles to school or work they are increasing the amount of CO2 in the air because of the fossil fuels, (gasoline in the cars) they are burning.
Everytime that these fossil fuels are burned, CO2 is released from the fuel and into th air. CO2 is a greenhouse gas, meaning that the temperature of the earth's atmosphere will rise. Although it may not seem a lot for the temperature to rise only 1 or 2 degrees, it can cause massive problems, such as the sea level to rise, and there to be a large change in the amount or frequency of rainfall.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?!
- Take the bus into school each morning instead of your parent's car.
- Either ride your bike, skateboard, walk or skate to your friend's houses.
- Share lifts with your friends to weekend clubs or workplaces.

TO DO:

* Keep track of every car journey that a member of your family takes over one week and then sit down with a parent and see how many of those journeys could have been avoided. Were you running late? Or feeling lazy that day? Or was there someone you could have shared a lift with?
